A linear should not normally be used with an SWR higher than 1.5:1. you should set SWR without the linear in line - if you set SWR with SWR meter between your CB & the linear, you are measuring the SWR of the CB & linear, not your antenna. Set SWR without linear to below 1.5:1, then connect linear & you'll be fine.

our website £º http://www.ybuw.com The world¡¯s most expensive hair!!
An auction of Elvis Presley memorabilia got bidders all shook up Sunday, with a clump of the late King of Rock and Roll's hair selling for 18,300 dollars and one of his shirts for 62,000 dollars.
More than 150 items that had belonged to the former president of the Elvis Presley fan club went on the block at Chicago's Leslie Hindman auctioneers.
The priciest items included a red ultrasuede shirt worn by Elvis, which was sold for 34,000 dollars, and a monogrammed cream-colored shirt that sold for 62,000, according to the auction house's listing of post-auction sale prices.
Two concert-worn scarves sold for a combined 2,318 dollars. A set of concert-used handkerchiefs went for 732 dollars.
Presley's personal collection of single song mini-records, known as 45 rpms, sold for 3,904 dollars.
Besides, in this aution a valueble lanyard from Elvis Presley was sold 2000 dollars. It is a very high price that a lanyard worth. From this we can see that people are crazy of Elvis Presley. Are you a lover of Elvis Presley yourself?
Wedding and bridal shower photos of Elvis and wife Priscilla sold for nearly 6,000 dollars.
Personal letters from Elvis's relatives were also among the items auctioned, including a collection of letters from his estranged grandfather J.D. Presley (1,159 dollars) and from his aunt (458 dollars).
The auction house did not provide details about the buyers, including the purchaser of a "large quantity of Elvis's hair," which went for 18,300.
This is no doubt the moest successful auction this year!

Ok .. seriously long to making an update. I have installed 2 SPDT Vacuum relays, added 2 @ 220uF@400V to the Plate supply filter string, made a doubler out of the 12V supply due to the fact i bought the 24V type relays.
It works on 10m down to 30Meters, with out doing much. On 10M it outputs 1.7KW - nice.
Things it needs ... since the transformers are meant for 200VAC and not 240VAC there needs to be some things take care of still. The Filament voltage is 1VAC higher per tube above what is recommended. I have ordered a 30W .126Ohm resistor to bring the voltage down to keep the tube life that it was/should have.
I tried it on 75Meters and the output was 200W with 100W drive - dismal, but not hard to understand why. Its simply missing loading caps that are added when the band switch is on 40/75/160 meters. I have ordered them and im awaiting delivery at this writing.
I need to build a web page describing the change over to ham for any one else that might want to give this a shot.

Living out in the near country, I don't have that issue but I got a good deal on a new HF rig that I couldn't say no to. The only issue is that I literally can't put up another HF wire outside becasue I only have 2 trees that are tall enough on my property and both are already supporting antennas.....
So I found this 4:1 balun lying around, and took a trip to wal mart for 4 slinkys. ($2.75 ea) next I crimped and soldered lugs to one end of each slinky then using a "butt" connector I crimped and soldered the slinkys together in 2 pairs of 2. Last night I went up into the east / west facing wing of the attic and strung it up by running a rope through the springs to support them then tied them off at two ends about 45 ft apart with the 4:1 hanging in the middle. Broke out the antenna analyzer and it shows 1.2:1 at 3.875 and less than 3:1 through the entire 75m phone band.....We'll see how it preforms tomorrow night when I get the feedline run into the bedroom and hooked up... The exposure calculator also shows that running just 100W it will be well within permissible limits... Oh yea, just don't let the ends contact anything flammable up there either....

most of those subs will give you a little less performance. Subbing a 6HS6 for the 1st mixer 6BA6 tube will give you better receive - both higher sensitivity and lower noise floor. Subbing the other 6BA6 with 6HS6 tubes does not further enhance performance. Subbing the 6bq5 with a 7189 will give a tad bit better transmitter performance.

Truthfully I got this radio from a cb shop. When I got the radio it was suped up to the max. too much. You couldn't even talk on sideband. She was only good for talking on AM. I had someone I know work on her and he took out the pills and put in the original factory ones and turned the power down 20 % so instead of running the full 100 watts she'll only do 80 watts. I live in a very bad trailer park I never run the radio over 20 to 40 watts.

I always run a d-104 with the mic gain verly cracked open and the radio mic gain on about 5 Expessically if you have lots of background noise like fans or a.c. going. And too if the radio has been supped up.adding a power mic is really just over doing it anyway.Seeing that what a supermods is like using a power mic.most times in this case the stock mic will sound better.

Well, I've tried lots of things, but having my radio so closed to a window airconditioner I'm sure doesn't help. I just don't have anywhere else to put it right now. I'm currently using a handheld d-104 which is working much better. I never run the mic gain on the radio over #5. I usually run the power mic at a #4.

OK,here goes...shield and red goes to pin1.-red wire is the common..white wire goes to pin 2-white is the audio wire..blue wire goes to pin 3-blue wire is the transmit wire..and black wire goes to pin 4-black wire is the receive wire.you should be able to read the numbers of pin on the bottom of the mic socket..if for some reason you cant read them, maybe theyve rubbed off or something..do it this way..Looking at the mic socket with alignment slot up.looking left to right.top left pin is no.1,top right pin is no.4,,bottom left pin is no.2,,bottom right pin is no.3
